Roger graduated in Building Engineering at University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) in 1989 and has worked in the construction industry ever since.

Half that time was with a global major contracting company and the second with medium sized contractors working in the north of England.

Roger began his career as a site engineer before moving into site management where he progressed to Project Manager in sole charge of multi £million construction projects.    Roger's degree and experience provides recognised entry in to the Chartered Institute of Builders, of which he is an Incorporated Member.    Click on the picture to the right to view the certificate and registration number.

In his time in the industry he has managed many projects from residential developments to offices, factories, schools and colleges.     Over the last decade or more, on larger projects there has been a preference for using relatively small contractors to undertake the building work by splitting the work up into small units.

This gives Roger a wealth of experience in managing small construction firms.

There cannot be many construction problems he has yet to encounter or excuses presented by builders that he has yet to hear!

Roger formed YBC after observing many examples of work in the domestic market that had failed to meet the client's satisfaction due to either quality, budget or programme failures.   A high proportion of these issues could have been avoided by employing simple control measures before the work commenced.
